Revol Jay nominated for prestigious tech award

As our Revols continue to make a huge difference to organizations around the globe, we were delighted to learn of one of our candidates being nominated in the Future Stars of Tech awards.

Jay Soang has been nominated in the Developer category, which recognizes someone “who has been part of a successful development project that has been rolled out within an organization.” The work that Jay was nominated for was her first project as a developer, which required her to come up with novel ideas to build a new feature from scratch, that also had to work with existing functionality.

Jay’s inclusion is a huge accomplishment, as the list features women from companies including the likes of Fujitsu, JP Morgan and Direct Line Group.

“I’m still quite shocked to have been shortlisted,” she said. “Being nominated alongside so many talented developers is an incredible achievement.”

“My ambition has always been to become a developer. I had no experience in this area when I joined and I’m really appreciative of the opportunity and the confidence that Revolent has given me to start my journey as a Salesforce developer.”

The awards cover a wide scope of digital projects, including data science, cybersecurity and machine learning, as well as recognizing future leaders, managers and tech evangelists. The event, which has been moved as a result of COVID-19 restrictions, is currently scheduled for 30 September, 2020.

It will be a celebration of the achievements of those who are less than eight years into their career in technology, as organizers hope to nurture a new generation of exciting and diverse talent.

“I’m delighted by Jay’s nomination and incredibly proud,” added Revolent’s President, Nabila Salem. “While tech struggles with diversity levels compared to other industries, visibility of female achievers is a key part of improving this. Being able to celebrate Jay’s achievements will hopefully encourage more women to join an industry that desperately needs them.”
