Boosting the representation of First Nations Australians in tech

How Revolent is helping to close Australia’s digital skills gap while helping Australia’s First Nations peoples launch lucrative careers
in the world's #1 CRM, Salesforce

Australia's digital skills gap

Australia’s First Nations peoples are vastly underrepresented across Australia’s workforce. The latest Indigenous Employment Index reveals that there are less than 50% of working-age Indigenous Australians in some form of employment, compared to 76% of non-Indigenous Australians. Find out how Revolent, PwC’s Indigenous Consulting (PIC), and Salesforce are working together to help Indigenous peoples get into Salesforce while delivering skilled tech workers to businesses that need them.

Closing the gap with the ITA

Established in February 2022, in collaboration between Revolent, PIC, and Salesforce, the ITA provides individuals from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds with a new opportunity to enter the tech sector and launch an incredible career in the world’s #1 CRM.

ITA’s talent creation program in action

1

Hire

Revolent recruits a wide range of talent for the ITA:
from high school leavers to experienced professionals looking to transition into Salesforce

2

The selected candidates participate in a fully-funded 9-week ITA bootcamp. With 60% time spent on practical application, it equips them with Salesforce-accredited certifications, crucial consultancy skills, and plenty of hands-on experience

3

Upon completion of the bootcamp, the ITA consultants are deployed on-site to join our clients’ teams. They receive ongoing support to help them upskill and gain more advanced Salefsorce certifications, ultimately becoming a valued member of the client’s team

The results

The ITA is making great strides in Australia’s tech sector, with one cohort of Indigenous consultants or ‘Revols’ having successfully completed the program. What’s more, the ITA isn’t just opening new doors to young adults, but also boosting gender representation across Australia’s tech workforce.
