Billed as “the most transformative event in tech”, AWS re:Invent has been going for an impressive 10 years. This year’s event, held in Las Vegas, is set to be an incredible experience. Packed with keynotes from Adam Selipsky and other executive speakers, leadership sessions led by AWS Cloud experts, and bootcamps for those who want to practically apply their knowledge.

So without further ado, here are our top 4 things to look forward to from the AWS re:Invent schedule for 2022.

4 things to look forward to during AWS re:Invent 2022

#1 AWS re:Invent keynote from Adam Selipsky

For the first keynote of AWS re:Invent 2022, we’ll join Adam Selipsky, Chief Executive Officer of AWS, as he takes a look at different ways that innovative builders are transforming industries (and the future!) through AWS.

In this keynote, Adam will highlight some of the biggest innovations in infrastructure, data, and more, and examine the different ways they are helping customers to achieve their goals faster and create a better future through AWS technologies.

This keynote will take place on Tuesday November 29th, 8:30am – 10:30am (PST), at The Venetian. But it will also be available to watch online, on demand, for those who can’t make it!

#2 AWS re:Invent leadership sessions

AWS re:Invent’s leadership sessions are an opportunity to learn from “AWS leaders about key topics in cloud computing” and to take your thinking to the next level on topics that really matter in our industry.

There are some incredible leadership sessions this year, including DE&I with Candi Castleberry, AWS Storage with Mai-Lan Tomsen Bukovec, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with Bratin Saha, and more!

That being said, as cloud talent experts with a focus on creating diverse AWS talent pipelines for our partner organizations, it would be remiss if we didn’t recommend the DE&I leadership session with Candice Castleberry. Let’s take a look at that now:

DE&I with Candi Castleberry Vice President, Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Amazon

In this AWS re:Invent session, Candi Castleberry will outline different strategies for responsibly using AI. She’ll discuss how you can advocate for customers (and maintain responsibility for your technology) in an ecosystem that is increasingly reliant on AI for decision-making.

This will include insights on how to integrate a “human-centered, culturally aware” approach to product-development, how to develop better AI systems, and how to build solutions or pdocuts that truly expand your customer base and serve people better than ever before.

This session will take place on Monday, November 28th, 2:30pm – 3:30pm (PST).

#3 AWS Builder Labs

AWS re:Invent also offers some fantastic opportunities to develop your skills and get practical experience in a live AWS sandbox environment, through its AWS Builder Labs.

You can explore real life situations, with step-by-step instructions, in the AWS Management Console, or apply your knowledge to various tasks related to security, machine learning, networking, and more, in over 100 self-paced labs.

Plus, there’s the AWS Spotlight labs, where you can practice live with a fully-fledged AWS expert who can answer your questions in real time.

If you’re new to AWS or want to deepen your tech skills, we highly recommend checking out the Builder Labs.

#4 AWS Bootcamps

Of course, we also have to mention the AWS Bootcamps and Partner Training workshop at re:Invent 2022. Through these, you can grow your knowledge in AWS solutions and services, and fit in some extra preparation for an AWS Certification exam. Led by experts in AWS, the immersive exercises and self-paced labs you’ll find in these bootcamps are invaluable.

The bootcamps cover a range of topics, including:

  • Certification preparation bootcamps
  • Technical bootcamps
  • AWS Partner Workshops
