Building internal Salesforce capability sustainably, with Revolent

MoneyMe

MoneyMeour first client in Australiahad made a significant investment in Salesforce. However, the lack of resourcing was proving to be a real stumbling block.

Traditional hiring methods had produced mixed results in finding the Salesforce talent they needed, and relying on graduate schemes was not an option either, due to the complexity of their Salesforce implementation and the slow rate-to-productivity.

Find out how we helped MoneyMe build their internal capability, producing fast and tangible results.

The make-or-break moment

When MoneyMe approached Revolent, the client had reached a tipping point.

Due to the challenges in sourcing and retaining Salesforce talent, the sustainability of their Salesforce platform had come into question. It was a real make-or-break moment.

Their CIO, Richard Williams, had previously transitioned his own career from one tech stack to another, having seen first-hand that cross-training is an effective method of not only getting the right tech talent on board but also a great aid in local succession planning. As a result, MoneyMe was ready to try a new alternative to traditional recruitment methods—Revolent.

How Revolent enabled MoneyMe to build internal capabilities

Revolent’s innovative model solved the key challenges MoneyMe was facing, instilling confidence that building internal capability and a local succession plan was not only possible—it was also sustainable and even cost-effective.

Revolent recruits experienced professionals and cross-trains them as in-demand tech specialists. The candidates who train with Revolent (or ‘Revols’) undergo a short, intensive burst of initial training to acquire advanced, Salesforce-accredited certifications and exposure to real-life projects, before progressing on to a two-year work placement with the client. At the end of their two-year period, the Revols can choose to convert to the client’s permanent headcount, boosting their retention rates at no extra cost. In fact, more than 80% of our Revols do.

Results

MoneyMe’s expectations were exceeded by our Revol’s outputs from day one, thanks to the advanced Salesforce certifications, consultancy skills, and real-world Tech Tasks that we equip our candidates with, to make them business-ready. Since the Revols are not fresh gradsthey come into the program with several years of industry experiencethey’re able to pick up on complex concepts more quickly, making a real impact from day one.

For example, one of the Revols working for MoneyMe, Matthew Geale, had 12+ years of experience in Software Development, with JavaScript being a factor in his success in the role.
