What’s it like working with us as a tech talent provider? [According to real customers]

As an AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft, MuleSoft, Salesforce, and Snowflake talent creation and training provider, we’re obsessed with supporting our customers, whether that be through our tech talent creation programs or upskilling. What’s more, we’re laser-focused on driving tangible results.

Building trust, developing relationships, and fostering confidence in our ability to deliver not only empowers our clients to succeed, but also helps strengthen the wider tech ecosystem, creating sustainable and diverse talent pipelines for the future.

But what does this commitment look like in action? If you’re considering working with Revolent, this article will guide you through the steps we take to deliver for businesses just like yours. You’ll hear from real clients about how they benefited from engaging with us and find out what kind of service you can expect as a Revolent customer.

Collaboration and support to create your 'ideal Revol' profile

‘Revols’ are the amazing individuals we source and cross-train to become the next generation of tech experts. There are plenty of organizations out there searching for in-demand tech skills, but that doesn’t mean that everyone will be looking for the same skills from their ideal Revol.

We know that any soft skills, previous experience, and complementary hard tech skills required from a new team member will vary enormously from business to business. Which is why we don’t do ‘cookie-cutter Revols’.

Our Talent Acquisition team works closely with you to create a detailed profile of the talent you’re looking for, covering everything from certifications and product expertise to industry-specific knowledge and non-technical aptitudes.

That means you get the talent you need on your team quickly, without wasting valuable time reviewing incompatible candidates. This commitment to delivering candidates that suit our clients’ businesses proved a great benefit for a leading Microsoft Solutions Partner, Xpedition.

To ensure Xpedition got the talent they needed, our Talent Acquisition specialists and Customer Success Team went above and beyond to understand their requirements and find talent that matched these skills. We were also able to tap into a much wider talent pool, engaging with individuals from other industries whose skills aligned with the role, and who could be cross-trained to meet the client’s needs.

“Jess had a real drive and ambition, and our culture is driven by people like her,” says Nealesh about the first Revol Xpedition hired. “There is no instruction manual to becoming a consultant. However, we could see that self-motivation in Jess.”

This flexible and tailored approach also stood out to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 partner, HSO.

And thanks to Revolent’s dedication to sourcing the right people for the role, McCarthy Stone onboarded new Salesforce talent in less than one month from their first point of contact with us.

We worked hard to understand McCarthy Stone’s needs and define what their ideal Revol looked like, before providing the company with a number of candidates from our talent pool that matched the specs. Immediately after their initial training, the selected Revols started working on-site at McCarthy Stone, able to produce solutions in their first four weeks on the job, rather than the 3-6 months that McCarthy Stone had anticipated.

Bringing fresh perspectives and diversity to your team

Diversity is the driving force behind everything we do, and we’ve made it our mission to make careers in tech accessible to everyone. We believe that removing barriers to success for people of all backgrounds and creating accessible opportunities is key to solving the skills shortage that our industry is facing.

Plus, diversifying the tech workforce means that businesses like yours can reap the benefits of new perspectives, fresh ideas, and teams that are far more representative of the customers you’re looking to serve in turn.

By providing fully paid, flexible, and supported training and work placements, we offer a path into the industry that’s open to anyone with a thirst for learning and a passion for tech innovation.

As of now, almost a third of our Revols are women, far outstripping the industry average. And over half identify as Arab, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic, or Mixed Ethnicity. You can learn more about our commitment to diversity and inclusion by visiting this page.

And it was this dedication to inclusion that helped DXC achieve its goal of hiring and supporting more women in tech. To date, nearly 60% of the Revols we delivered to the company have been women.

What’s more, our work with Cognizant has enabled the company to attract a more diverse set of professionals and drive innovation within their Salesforce team, too.

And after developing a program that would deliver diverse, certified Salesforce consultants, a Fortune 500 financial services client of ours was also able to achieve its ED&I targets.

“We’ve been trying to hire diverse talent for a few years but really struggled,” said Paul Shepherd, VP of Salesforce Engineering at the firm. “We set targets, but previous approaches had stalled. Only 8% of computer science graduates come from diverse backgrounds in the US, so it’s hard to attract and hire from this small number, particularly in a demanding marketplace.”

Delivering measurable, tailored outcomes

Developing tech talent is an exciting and ongoing journey, but just because we’re committed to continuous learning doesn’t mean we can’t achieve measurable outcomes.

Our hiring and development processes are tailored to each individual client, outlining set goals and timelines to ensure the organization is getting maximum value from their Revols. These objectives can be constantly updated as your business needs develop, and the skills you need from your Revols evolve.

When HSO came to us, this Microsoft partner needed to increase its delivery bandwidth fast, having grown 60% across core business areas in just 12 months. Despite having its own in-house graduate and cross-training scheme, HSO was struggling to access experienced mid-level talent with deep domain expertise who would stay with the business long-term.

We worked with HSO to define clear goals, ensuring their Revols had everything they needed to hit the ground running. As a result, 90% of the first group of Revols were working on billable projects within just 12 weeks of their deployment. Since then, the Revols placed at HSO have earned 29 Microsoft certifications with an 89.7% first-time certification pass rate.

Publicis Sapient faced a similar issue, with a pressing need for immediately billable resources. “We approached Revolent because we had to expand our technical Salesforce ability fast,” recalls Joff Bukht at Publicis Sapient. “But we didn’t want to sacrifice on quality; we needed high-quality professionals who were able to deliver for our clients immediately.”

We sourced the right professionals and supported them through their advanced training program, resulting in all candidates becoming certified, customer-facing, billable consultants from day one.

And as a result of the work of our Revols, McCarthy Stone was able to deploy an entirely new business model.

Building expertise and sharing valuable knowledge

In the fast-changing world of business technology, lifelong learning is essential if you want your organization to remain at the cutting edge, ahead of your competitors.

Which is exactly why Revols don’t stop learning once they’re working on-site at your organization. We continue to invest in their development throughout their deployment, guiding them through additional certifications, soft skills training, or whatever technical upskilling your business requires.

Our approach to building tailored partnerships with organizations means that Revols become fully integrated members of your team while also receiving continued training and more advanced vendor-approved certifications from our Learning & Development team, saving you both time and money.

As Paul Shepherd explains, this continuous training support is vital not only for the growth of the Revols, but for the productivity of the entire team: “Coaching people internally takes up so much time and resource, including the time of our senior employees. Outsourcing that training means our whole team is free to get on with their jobs.”

Supporting our Revols on their journey to tech excellence is a huge part of our model—and something we’re truly passionate about. Because wherever digital skills are growing, everyone wins.

As you’ve heard from our clients, taking a journey with Revolent is all about finding the right people and equipping them with the right skills, so that they’re ready to get to work from the get-go and committed to learning more every day.

From building (and delivering) custom talent profiles to providing ongoing training, we are passionate about providing outstanding customer experiences that help you achieve your technical, commercial, and diversity goals.

Hiring talent, training your people, and building talent pipelines can be a difficult and time-consuming process, especially in the fast-moving field of technology. So, let us do the hard work for you, providing you with diverse, delivery-ready professionals equipped with the skills you need.

With Revolent as your dedicated talent creation partner, you get access to impactful and cost-effective talent solutions that can be infinitely evolved and scaled. Whatever your talent needs, we’ll help you get there with the right skills on-board.
