My Career Journey: Building my Salesforce career after becoming a parent

Balancing family and a career isn’t always easy. Too often, parents struggle to get back to work after taking time off to take care of their little ones. But this doesn’t always have to be the case. We met with one of our amazing Revols Swetapadma Panda, who took a break in her career after having a baby. We spoke to Swetapadma about her career journey, joining Revolent, and getting back to work after taking parental leave.

Q&A with Swetapadma Panda,
Salesforce Developer and Revol

Can you tell us a little more about your background, and your career path too?

Sure! Before having my baby, I used to be a successful Software Developer, and I was very happy with my profession. But then, when my little one was born, I quit my job to take care of my baby. It was the best decision I could take for my family.

However, that also resulted in a huge gap in my career. Once I realized I wanted to get back to work, I started thinking about what I wanted to pursue and that’s where I started considering and eventually decided on a career path in Salesforce through Revolent.

Why did you choose Revolent?

When I decided to enter the world of Salesforce, I knew it was not going to be as easy as it appears to be. However, that’s where I spotted a job opening from Revolent for Salesforce, and one thing that really caught my eye in that ad was the slogan ‘world-leading talent creation’. The thing is, I knew I had the potential to succeed in my Salesforce career, but I also knew that I needed the help of a platform that could guide me and showcase my talent to the IT industry.

What role did your previous experience as a Software Developer play in forging this career in Salesforce?

Revolent helped me to understand my strengths, and what about them and my past experience could make me stand out in the hiring market. They also helped to fill any gaps in my knowledge—something I wouldn’t have been able to do alone. This is because I was equipped with what was necessary for me to learn the technology—and how to work with it.

They also provided me with an environment where I can understand the complete process of Salesforce Dot Com (SFDC)—the methodology that companies are following currently. Choosing Revolent gave me what I needed to succeed in my Salesforce career!
