Microsoft Dynamics 365 Consultant
From a mid-market ERP to Microsoft Dynamics 365: How George Smith became a Functional Consultant
Who is George Smith?
George chose to cross-train with Revolent to learn a more in-demand skill set and take his career to new heights.
Prior to joining Revolent, George had four years of experience in accounting at a world-leading cybersecurity company, and an impressive résumé that included a demonstrated history of working with mid-market ERPs.
He chose to cross-train as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant as part of our world-class Microsoft Cloud Careers Program. Here’s his story:

Working on-site as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant
Once trained, George worked with a global tech company on-site, to develop his skills across a range of Dynamics 365 specialisms.
I’ve even done work on Supply Chain Management to ensure I understand that area, even though it’s not a core part of my duties. I really love that."

What’s next on George's Microsoft career path?
I have a fantastic progression program. There are people in my team that are helping to build my knowledge as a Junior Consultant, specifically so that I can progress to Senior (and eventually, Solutions Architect).
It’s a wonderful opportunity and I feel really lucky! I’ve had a fantastic time on my placement so far. I’m working towards becoming a permanent employee, but I know if that doesn’t happen, I’m still very well-positioned to find a role somewhere else."
At Revolent, we help people start incredible new careers in the tech sector’s most in-demand technologies. Our world-class Microsoft Careers Program includes paid training with an emphasis on practical application, fully-funded certifications, and a paid position at a market-leading company.
