Cloud computing, data, and AI—the future of technology
It may come as no surprise to you that the three biggest ‘movers and shakers’ in the tech sector right now are cloud vendors, data platforms and warehouses, as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Here’s why we believe now is the perfect time to cross-train and become a specialist in one of these fast-growing areas of tech.
Cloud computing
Gartner predicts that 85% of organizations will embrace cloud-first solutions by 2025. And yet, 90% of IT decision-makers have reported skills shortages in cloud-related disciplines, resulting in programs like ours that will fund your journey to the cloud. We’re on a mission to solve the cloud skills gaps and bring fresh perspectives to cloud ecosystems.
Data and AI
AI seems to be the word on everyone’s lips right now. But even the best AI solutions and products can only run effectively if they are based on clean, comprehensive, and robust data sets, making Data Engineers some of the most sought-after specialists in tech right now. In fact, the World Economic Forum predicts that by 2025, some 97 million new AI jobs will emerge, with a whopping 16,000+ open vacancies for Data Engineers across the globe today.
What's different about cross-training with Revolent?
While theoretical knowledge may be easier to obtain, what’s really hard to get your hands on when you’re just starting out is the practical experience of applying your knowledge on a specific tech project.
This is why it’s worth considering applying for a Tech Careers Program like ours. We can help you gain the skills, industry certifications, and work experience to kick-start your journey to tech, or help you specialize in a sought-after domain of tech. We’ll make sure you’ve got the tech know-how, practical experience working on a range of real-time projects, and crucial soft skills before we deploy you on-site with one of our market-leading clients for a paid work placement.
And the best bit? Our training is fully funded! In other words, we’ll support you throughout your entire journey to becoming a tech specialist. And it all starts with our TA team.
How can Revolent help me land my dream role in tech?
Our TA team know that changing jobs is always going to be a big deal, but leaving a successful career to cross-train into something completely different can feel even more daunting… Which is why our TA consultants support each candidate through every step of the interview process. Unlike more traditional recruiters, this allows us to work in partnership with our candidates to ensure they feel comfortable, confident, and supported.
What if my dream role in tech isn’t available?
Our TA consultants will look at your existing skills and determine if you are a good fit for one of our available roles within AWS, Databricks, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Cloud, Salesforce, or Snowflake Career Programs. Our world-class, industry-certified instructors will provide you with the support and training you need to gain your certifications and transition seamlessly into your role with one of our clients. However, there are cases when a candidate might be a better match for a different technology stack than what’s currently on offer.
In that case, once our TA consultants have determined that you might be a good fit for an available role, they will reach out to you and see if you’re interested in pursuing the opportunity. So, unlike typical recruitment (where you get a job, fill it, and move on), our relationship with a candidate often spans a much longer period, as it may take time for the right opportunity to become available.
And when it comes to the specific tech roles they recruit for, our TA consultants really do know their stuff!
Here’s what one of the candidates had to say about their experience:
What opportunities are available to people from underrepresented backgrounds?
As a business, Revolent promotes diversity both internally and externally, by fueling the tech sector with net-new talent from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. 35% of our cloud consultants (or ‘Revols’) are women and 52% come from an ethnic minority background. The focus on diversity is something that the TA team have embedded in their practice, too.
“We’ve also worked with candidates who have changed their careers drastically—people who didn’t have the tools and support to kick-start a cloud career and were wondering where’s my big break going to come from?” adds Max, who has successfully helped a former police officer and a professional women’s football referee, among others, launch exciting careers in cloud computing.
What additional resources will Revolent provide to set me up for success?
During the pre-screening process, we’ll help you optimize your chances of success by equipping you with skills you can take forward throughout your job search.
A CV or a résumé is the first impression that an account manager or a client is going to have about you, so our TA specialists will work with you to optimize your résumé, highlighting the most relevant and important aspects of your career journey, depending on the role you’re applying for.
Most people struggle with the task of writing their résumé, so we equip candidates with guides, templates, and other resources they can use to improve their résumé not only for this job but in any future job search as well.
We’ll also conduct detailed interview coaching, so we know you’ll be well-prepared to answer any questions that the interviewer might throw in the mix. This means that, even if you’re unsuccessful at the end of your application process, you will be able to walk away with the tools and knowledge to help you in your ongoing job search.
So, if you’re looking to take your professional growth in a new direction and switch your career to a specialist technology, our TA team will set you on the path to success!
